Toronto Soccer Fans to Relaunch

The more observant among you may have noticed that Toronto Soccer Fans has been dormant for some time.
Various work/life changes have meant that there was insufficient time to keep this site updated to the extent that it deserved.

The Home game on Saturday was an opener in more ways than one. An Eye Opener. The passion of the crowd was fanstastic to see, and was reflected by most of the team. I am shortly relaunching this site as a suitable complement to that.

TFC Season Tickets Flying

Mon 27th Nov, 2006 8:13pm - rumour

Unofficial numbers are suggesting very high interest in season pass sales

It would appear that Toronto FC tickets are selling like hotcakes, and are tipping the 5000 mark. My source tells me that having been around 4th in the (unconfirmed, unofficial) MLS sales rank a week or two ago, it would appear that we might challenge the mighty Galaxy (who run around the high 5000s) for guaranteed bums-in-seats.

Great as this is, especially considering the very focused (read 'not-high-visibility') advertising effort mlse have undertaken, we have yet to see whether the rest (read 'glory-hunting') of T.O the Good can be persuaded to come when it's hard to get more than 15k into the skydome Rogers Centre when the Jays are having an off-week.

MLSE have put their minds to getting a 14-15k average gate, which is a sensible target (lower end of MLS averages). Still, I grew up supporting a club who had 4000 on a good day, and 2500 when we were milling around the doldrums (though not as low as we are these days. Cambridge, what happened!). We still managed to make a hell of a noise when we wanted. A 5 thousand hard-core of supporters will surely help the fledgling club get off the ground
