Toronto Soccer Fans to Relaunch

The more observant among you may have noticed that Toronto Soccer Fans has been dormant for some time.
Various work/life changes have meant that there was insufficient time to keep this site updated to the extent that it deserved.

The Home game on Saturday was an opener in more ways than one. An Eye Opener. The passion of the crowd was fanstastic to see, and was reflected by most of the team. I am shortly relaunching this site as a suitable complement to that.

Striker Edson Buddle looks to Europe?

Mon 4th Dec, 2006 10:17am - rumour

My favorite species, the Soccer agent, stirs rumours that Edson Buddle may be Europe-bound

Edson Buddle is not too enamoured with Toronto FC, and is set to leave, if you believe Yanks Abroad, the site which recently suggested Jaqua is also on his way out.

Buddle, one of Toronto's currently limited striking options, is looking to a European transfer for what should be some of his most productive years, rather than make the move North. If there is any weight behind this idea, it has to be taken with a fair pinch of salt as it comes from his agent, someone with a vested interest in as many transfers as possible to take his cut from. Edson (named after Pele) Buddle has got one international cap, which would usually be sufficient to get round employment law in most European nations, and at 25 years of age he still has plenty of room to for growth as a player. It is questionable whether he would view a move to Fredrikstad in Norway as a step up, but then he could also be questioning whether he would be wise, considering his history of injuries, to set his base at a ground with artificial turf.
