Toronto Soccer Fans to Relaunch

The more observant among you may have noticed that Toronto Soccer Fans has been dormant for some time.
Various work/life changes have meant that there was insufficient time to keep this site updated to the extent that it deserved.

The Home game on Saturday was an opener in more ways than one. An Eye Opener. The passion of the crowd was fanstastic to see, and was reflected by most of the team. I am shortly relaunching this site as a suitable complement to that.

Transfers and Tshirts

Mon 11th Dec, 2006 11:35am - news

A roundup of the weekends news, including a ship-date for replica shirts, and a Canadian international on the move elsewhere.

De Guzman

Not that he'd ever come here anyway, but 16-cap Canadian international Julian De Guzman is heading out of Deportivo La Coruna for either Sheffield United or Charlton Athletic in the English Premier League. He told the Independent newspaper:
"I am convinced that I shall accept the chance to move, English football is passionate and it is wonderful for any player to play there."
He will be 26 by the time the new MLS season kicks off, which places him in the age range from which TFC can capture homegrown talent, but the odds of snagging a player from the top European leagues (England, Spain, Italy, Germany) rather than the less glamourous Scandinavian leagues is low.

Shirt Shipping Date

There have been some limited (200?) releases of jerseys in Toronto stores in the past few days (of questionable quality I am told), but I am informed that Adidas have projected 17th March 2007 as the official shipping date for the Toronto FC Jerseys.
