Toronto Soccer Fans to Relaunch

The more observant among you may have noticed that Toronto Soccer Fans has been dormant for some time.
Various work/life changes have meant that there was insufficient time to keep this site updated to the extent that it deserved.

The Home game on Saturday was an opener in more ways than one. An Eye Opener. The passion of the crowd was fanstastic to see, and was reflected by most of the team. I am shortly relaunching this site as a suitable complement to that.

Over 8000 Season tickets sold in Toronto so far.

Toronto's numbers swell ever higher, with 1000 more sales down to the "Beckham Effect"

A small article on 680 news confirms the Beckham effect is in full power in Toronto. The club sold 1036 tickets in 24 hours, bringing the total so far to over 8000 sold. That's an amazing number considering there's still months to go til the season starts, and anecdotally we were number one in the MLS before yesterday (LA no doubt are now). Interest has been steadily rising, but the news yesterday was a real boost. TorontoSoccerFans saw more than 5 times as much traffic as usual yesterday, and the press seem to have at least temporarily woken up to the imminent arrival of pro-soccer in Toronto. It is also interesting to note that the prawn sandwich boxes have been doing well, with most of the premium corporate suites sold.

This will probably be the last major boost in tickets. Anyone who is interested in soccer in Toronto cannot have missed the Beckham news and thereby the Toronto FC connection. I don't expect the forthcoming (alleged) arrival of Edgar Davids at FC Dallas to have the same effect, or even a portly Ronaldo if he did decide to cross the pond. Expect a steady stream of sales between now and season start, although you should act quickly if you still want tickets at the more affordable end. Lets see if we can't start the season with 10,000 regular ticketholders to create some real atmosphere.
