Toronto Soccer Fans to Relaunch

The more observant among you may have noticed that Toronto Soccer Fans has been dormant for some time.
Various work/life changes have meant that there was insufficient time to keep this site updated to the extent that it deserved.

The Home game on Saturday was an opener in more ways than one. An Eye Opener. The passion of the crowd was fanstastic to see, and was reflected by most of the team. I am shortly relaunching this site as a suitable complement to that.

Check back soon, and any suggestions can be sent via the contact form

More on the Beckham Effect, including 2600 season tickets sold by Toronto, and more potential incomers.

Anyone without their head under a pillow the last few weeks will have seen that David Beckham signed for LA Galaxy in the MLS. Shortly afterwards I reported that Toronto had sold over 1000 tickets in the 24 hours following the announcement. Updating that total now, the club say that they have sold over 10,000, more than 2600 attributed to the 'Beckham Effect'

Concurrently with the Beckham story buildup, there were many rumours about Edgar Davids going to Dallas. This is now being even more strongly mooted, and new names are cropping up. Ronaldo, Patrick Berger and even chubby scouser Robbie Fowler are being suggested. The Fowler rumour is down to his contract not being renewed by Liverpool at the end of this season, and his agent seeing dollar signs after the Beckham incident. From his agent: "He was going to retire, but after reconsideration still thinks he has a couple more years left." I think you'd be hard pushed to find a Man City fan who believes that, but it confirms that the transatlantic money grab is in full swing.
