Toronto Soccer Fans to Relaunch
The more observant among you may have noticed that Toronto Soccer Fans has been dormant for some time.
Various work/life changes have meant that there was insufficient time to keep this site updated to the extent that it deserved.
The Home game on Saturday was an opener in more ways than one. An Eye Opener. The passion of the crowd was fanstastic to see, and was reflected by most of the team.
I am shortly relaunching this site as a suitable complement to that.
Check back soon, and any suggestions can be sent via the contact form
Greg Sutton Confirmed
Tue 28th Nov, 2006 1:36pm - news
As rumoured repeatedly here on TSF, Greg Sutton (GK) has just signed a contract with MLS for the coming 2007 season. As reported on the Montreal Impact website they have not yet declared a club, but multiple sources confirm that T.O. is his destination and he will be unveiled in a press conference thursday or friday depending on his personal arrangements.
Chairman/President Joey Saputo was not keen to see him go - Sutton is widely regarded as the finest keeper in North America not playing in MLS - but we understand certain agreements were made regarding matches Toronto FC will play against the Impact in a Canadian cup, or at least a home and away matchup, making up for the fact that we will not be eligible for the US Open Cup and other US-centric competitions.
The signing of Sutton represents a great step towards Johnston setting up his 'Fortress BMO' from the back, so now our focus hopefully will turn to some more potent strikers.
